Maintenance fees are determined by the share value of the property, ie: the size of the units and also the number of units in the development. It is therefore expected that the larger the unit, the higher the maintenance fees. The more units there are in a development, the maintenace fees could be lower. It can vary from S$150.00 to S$1,500.00 or even higher depending on the facilities and amenities the project has, the more you have, the more you pay. Therefore it is best to check with the developer or Management Corporations (MC) to find out the maintenace fees payable.
To question 2, 'How often does it increase?' - The M.C. cannot increase the maintence fees whenever they feel like it. They have to seek approval from the relevant Government authorities before any increase can be implemented and also needs approval from most of the respective owners.
