What jobs and career prospects is there with a specialised Diploma in Digital Media creation?

I'm working full-time as a lab assistant. I have a diploma in Chemical Science and have been thinking of further studies but cannot get into local NUS due to average results.

I'm wondering if I take a part-time Specialist Diploma in Digital Media Creation what are the jobs positions available? Is there a large market for such skills? What's the usual range of salary after i get the certificate?

If I'm interested in animation and special effects in movies is this the way to go? I feel getting my chemical diploma has not gotten me the way I have wanted it to be and feel disappointed. I'd like to upgrade myself to get a better job prospect.
